Chaplain Steve Satterfield (right) gave 25 boxes of supplies to the school near his Foward Operating Base. In attendance are the area Education Director and some other Afghan government officials. The boxes came from churches, schools and Operation International Children (Gary Sinise's (CSI-NY, etc.) organization). Thanks, USA, for being so generous!

Officers' Christian Fellowship published one of my pictures showing us helping the Afghans. Because of this, someone contacted me, who put me in contact with Gary Sinise's (CSI-NY, etc.) organization, who sent us 30 boxes of supplies for the needy Afghans. The medic at Garcia emailed Gary, who ended up visiting there. Thanks, Lord, for letting me have a small part in this!

From Christian Report June 2007: Because of the efforts of Chaplain (Major General) Hicks and LTC Crawford, the 2d MI BN Commander, resources were made available to provide a quality marriage retreat. We were able to take 25 families to beautiful southern Germany for a weekend conference. We stayed at the Edelweiss resort in the midst of the Bavarian Alps. The weather was just right for our trip.
My supervisor, CH (MAJ) Scott Weichl, spoke the first night using the resources available through Family Wellness Associates. Their mission is to "To teach, encourage and support couples, individuals, families and those who work with them to promote healthy relationships. We teach practical skills based on proven principles that strengthen, uphold and empower individuals, couples and families."
The next day, I led a Palm Sunday service. I spoke on PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program) which included the Speaker-Listener technique. We spent the afternoon at Neuschwanstein Castle (the "Disney Castle") and finished PREP that night.
The final day, we watched a DVD by Dr. Gary Chapman, the author of "The Five Love Languages. I'm thankful to Christ and the US Army for allowing us this opportunity to learn from one another. "To date, more than 30,000 Army couples have benefited from the program ¡V and more than 90 percent rate the program positively." Go on one of these if you can!

CH Satterfield (on the right) and his CH Asst (on the left) gave Saf, the teacher (in the middle) some school supplies for the Afghan English children's school on FOB Finley-Shields. See www.helpafghanistan.net and www.pencilsforpeace.org for more information if you'd like to help us. We're doing this throughout E. Afghanistan. We in America are truly blessed!
